About
Your watch guy in Austin.
A personal watch concierge, built on a family name people have trusted since 1969.
Meet Matt
Hi, I'm Matt Salomon.
Hoover's Watches is my watch concierge service here in Austin. I buy, sell and source new, vintage and pre-owned timepieces, and I handle every sale personally, from the first question to the moment the watch is on your wrist.
As an Authorized Seiko Dealer, I can get you any current Seiko with full manufacturer warranty. Beyond Seiko, a network of trusted contacts lets me hunt down almost any reference, usually below what you'll pay elsewhere.
No storefront, no pressure, just honest descriptions, fair prices, and someone who genuinely loves watches.
Off the clock, I'm at home with my wife and our kids. Watches are my work, but family is why I keep this small and personal: every person who buys from me gets the same care I'd want for my own family.

The family behind it
Backed by Hoover's Jewelry.
I'm David and Wyn Hoover's son-in-law. Their family business began in 1969, when Floyd and Jo Hoover bought a small jewelry store in Pittsburg, Texas and built a place where people felt known.
By 1982 their son David had taken the bench, designing, setting and repairing, and with Wyn renamed the store Hoover's Jewelry. In 2013 it moved to the Old U.S. Post Office building in downtown Mount Pleasant, where David still works at the bench every day.
That 55-year reputation for honesty and craftsmanship stands behind every watch I sell, and my wife and kids get to grow up around it.

My promise
What you get every time.
The real watch, photographed
Every listing shows the exact piece you'll receive, photographed by me, never a stock photo.
Inspected before it ships
Timing, condition and function are checked before anything leaves my hands.
Honest condition notes
Flaws included. If something is worn, serviced or replaced, I'll say so up front.
Me, after the sale
Questions, service advice or help picking your next watch, I'm one message away.
"Know what you're buying, and who you're buying it from."
David taught me that educating the customer is the job. I'll always walk you through condition, history and what's included before you buy.
